Today, I will be writing about the third tip for reading. You can read the first two here and here.
Share what you’ve read. Talk about what you’ve read with someone who has an interest in the same category as you. This can either happen in a book club or with anyone you meet on the street. One of the questions I try to ask people whenever I meet them for the first time is to investigate what was the last book they read that they enjoyed. In many cases, they end up telling me more than I asked for. And it is the same thing whenever anyone asks about the book I enjoyed the most. Talking about a book I’ve read is like reliving the reading experience. It helps me sort my thinking about that specific book. Also, it allows the other party who is listening to recommend further books in the same category.
This trick is simple, share what you’ve read. Your thoughts about that book, the things you like, the things you didn’t like, your favorite character, your big twist, the new words you found, etc. Many people do this in a book club, but you can do this on your Facebook Page. Actually, that is how this newsletter started. I began by writing the thoughts I have on the books I’ve read on my Facebook Page.
What was the last book you read that you enjoyed deeply? Tell me about it.
