Christianity has a rich history of using books.

In several places in the Old Testament, God reminds the Israelites to write the records down so they can pass the testimony and rules from one generation to the next.

In Habbakuk, God told the prophet "“Write down this vision and clearly inscribe it on tablets, so that a herald may run with it."

In Daniel, the prophet says "I, Daniel, understood from the sacred books, according to the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years."

In the New Testament, Jesus asks his listeners "Have you not read?"

The tradition of writing and books continues to this day. John's admonishing on why the book of John was written still holds true "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His Name."
