Dear Friend,
To make the best of life, one must see it as an infinite thing. It is a loonshot, more than a sprint!
Today, we are crossing over into another chapter!
As we say Goodbye to 2021 and welcome 2022, I have 3 thoughts.
1. Adventures Are Unpredictable: It is common to hear young people say they want a life of adventure, in many cases, what we mean is a predictable enjoyable full of making memories. I learnt this year that adventures are unpredictable. To enjoy it, we must embrace the unpredictable as well as the predictable. Those who have enjoyed the best of life are those who followed the road less travelled, the road full of bumps and lows. Embracing the whole experience is what makes our lives adventurous. Embrace uncertainty.
2. Read some books slowly: Let them reach your heart, not just your head! Let the books reach your soul, let them temper with your temperament and attitude, let them invade your insecurities and then let them change you! There are some books I read slowly, they deserved it. One chapter at a time, I wasn’t in a haste to move to the next one. When you encounter such a book, maintain the same spirit.
3. Take Action: To a certain point, too much reading becomes a deficiency. Read and act. Apply. Take action. You’ve read of Martin Luther? Try to stand up for justice like he did. You’ve read of Mother Theresa? Try to care for the needy like she did. Try to act! You may fail, but just keep trying. You have nothing to prove, you are just here to live the life that God has given to you.
Thank you for staying with me through this newsletter for the whole of 2021. I hope the coming gives us more opportunities to interact, share knowledge and learn from each other. 2022 looks exciting, I haven’t been there but I know a God who has been there already. Keep calm, He is in control.
Feliz año nuevo.
PS: I will be reading The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard into the new year. It is a fitting title to end the year and begin the new one.
These are words of gold for the new year. And for books list? I'll make mine today😁
Happy new year!!
No better time to read this into the new year than now!
Happy New year!
